TABLE T®: A Fusion of Art, Design, and Innovation

Exploring the Unique Properties and Aesthetic Appeal of dsignedby's Award-Winning Design

The TABLE T® is a testament to the power of inspiration and the possibilities of material exploration. The design team at dsignedby drew inspiration from their extensive experience with Corian, a DuPont solid material known for its sustainability and versatility. The challenge was to combine Corian with other materials and achieve stability without the usual under-construction. The result is a delicate design that marries smooth lines with robust materials, creating a piece that can serve as a bridge between a romantic candlelight setting and a futuristic ambiance.

What sets the TABLE T® apart from other furniture designs is its unique blend of materials. The table is a mixture of Corian Illumination Series, DuPont as the main material, metallic painted, powdered or galvanized holding structure, and solid wood as its standing parts. The design team successfully incorporated the metallic holding structure with the Illumination Series solid material without making it visible when the light is switched on. The construction thus became a visible part of the design, reinforcing the table's stability and adding to its aesthetic appeal.

The realization of the TABLE T® involved a complex process of manual assembly. The Corian, cut and prepared manually, was later formed into the 3D structure of the table using a CNC machine. The metallic construction was also manually crafted and could be coated in any RAL or Pantone color or galvanized into brass, copper, or stainless steel. The final result is a sleek, polished table that stands as a testament to the craftsmanship and attention to detail of the dsignedby team.

The TABLE T® is more than just a table; it's an interactive piece of design. It can be used both indoors and outdoors, thanks to its sustainable, durable, antibacterial, water-proof, and heat-proof material. The table also features a built-in LED light, which can be powered by a rechargeable battery for outdoor use or an electrical power supply for indoor use.

The design process for the TABLE T® began in 2012 in Belgrade, Serbia, and culminated in its exhibition at the Salone del Mobile in April 2013. Since then, the table has been showcased at various design events, including Paris Design Week, IMM Cologne, Tortona Milano, and Belgrade Design Week. The design was also awarded the Golden A' Furniture Design Award in 2015, a testament to its innovative design and aesthetic appeal.
